California may have had a lot
of fuel altereds, but they didn't have a lock on 'em.
On these pages, they come from across the big ponds! FromAustralia to
Jolly Old England, with stops in varous other countries!
Here, courtesy of Danny White, minder
of the 70's Funny Cars site over at Draglist.com, and David Cook, former
editor of Dragster Australia, are a number of photos from the Dragster
Australia files! Thanks, Danny and David!

Before both added nitro, Graeme Cowin
and John Taylor face off at Castlereagh 1971.

Real Fuel Altereds, the legendary Jim
Walton taking on Graeme Cowin at Castlereagh in 1974.

Gary Pitcher's AA/A Pro Comper from 1981.
Note the paint scheme stolen from the Sheepherder of Arizona's John Aleman.

Graeme Cowin at Castlereagh in 1971 in
Psycho II .

Cowin kicking some rods on a burnout
at Castlereagh in 1974!

Graeme Cowin again, at Castlereagh 1974
, David Cook said to look at the right side of the wing. Looks a little
deflected to me...

Jim Reed at Surfers Paradise from mid
70's.

Ian Splatt in the Dragway Splatt's Rat
at Heathcote Park in 1985 before burning up.
And yes, his daughter IS Rachelle Splatt,
ex-TF driver.

The most famous AA/FA in Aussie History?
I dunno... that's the caption that came with the photo. But from the looks
of it, it appears to be the ex-Psycho III of Graeme Cowin, now owned and
driven by Jim Walton. But, I could be wrong.

David Cook said the guy in the foreground
is Dave Andrews manager of Castlereagh at the time. Crazyman John Taylor
was on Nitro at this time! Loved his fire burnouts, too!

Peter Lodge in New Zealand 1975.

This is the old Bob Dunn car at Castlereagh
from the late 70's.

Steve Reed now at the wheel at Surfers
Paradise, late 70's.
