It's funny how things work out...one of the chief reference bibles I use for this site is Don Montgomery's "Wild Fuel Altereds" book.

While going through the book, I noticed about half the photos were shot by Rod Hynes. Now, if you're any fan of Fuel Altereds, you know that Rod Hynes has driven his share of 'em...from the Black Magic T of Bill Frontuto, the Coors Light T and Bantam, and the one and only McGee powered Quadzilla!

So, one of my pals goes to work on Rod, telling him any good thing about me that pops into his head. The best thing about Rod, though, not only did he drive these things, he was a fan of 'em LONG before he got into any cockpit! But, I digress...

So, one day the mailman shows up with this bulky package...from Rod Hynes. I open the thing up...two full slide carousels of Fuel Altered slides...100 in each carousel! Plus, each and every one of 'em is listed on notebook paper by Rod hisself!

So, I got busy, and scanned all those little monkeys. Only took about a month. Yikes! I return the slides to Rod at the 2000 California Hot Rod Reunion, and when I get back, what happens, but another package! Another 150 slides! Whew...!

Now what you're going to see on this page and a few following pages are the Hynes Archives...shot by both Rod and his father, Tom, starting around 1967 up until around 1986...you'll see each and every shot that was in Montgomery's book, but only better, see, all the shots in that book are black and white, while every single slide Rod sent was in COLOR!

So, here's a batch of 'em to start out with, and you'll find others on the respective pages of the Winged Express, the Rat Trap, the MOB, and the other featured cars...

Enjoy! I know I have so far! And, this is just a *small* portion of what's waiting in the wings...
